SUMMARY:Payson Long Gong
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Long Gong at the Tonto Rim Sports Club\nAll you need is a scoped .22LR rifle\, a bipod and separate rear bag. And 50 rounds of ammo.\nWe’ll supply three gong targets: 8″\, 6″\, and 4″\nYou shoot from the bench\, and the targets are 300 yards down range.\nThe object is to score as many points as possible with those 50 rounds. You get 1 point for each hit on the 8″\, 2 points for the 6″\, and 3 points for each hit on the 4″ steel gong.\nSince this is a risk/reward competition\, you shoot for the 8″ first\, and if you hit it\, you may move to the 6″. Hit that\, and you can move on to the 4″. A miss on the 6″ or 4″ means that you move back to the previous gong\, and must hit it before moving on. Each competitor shoots 5 10-round sets\, with the maximum possible score of 27 for each set (1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3) and 135 total for the match.\nIt’s a game so simple a child can play; so challenging even the best shooters will never perfect it\, and to top it all off\, it’s highly addictive!\nCome join us for a Long Gong match on the 3rd Sunday of each month\, at the Tonto Rim Sports Club’s Jim Jones Shooting Range.\nNon-members welcome. While competitive in spirit\, these matches are fun shoots and we are willing to help if you are interested in joining us! Match fee $5. Please sign up at Practiscore.com (search ‘Matches’ for ‘Payson Long Gong’) Squads consist of 3 competitors: shooter\, spotter\, scorekeeper.\nNote: We will give a one 5-minute sight in time before your 1st round. This is done when it is your turn to shoot only.\nContact Match Director / Doug Hutter at 928-951-0248 steel_chickens_TRSC@yahoo.com

SUMMARY:SVSS April 19 2026 Steel Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Steel shooting is a sport in which competitors are required to combine speed and accuracy to successfully complete the match. SVSS uses all 8 of the official steel challenge stages. All the stages are 5 strings of 5 shots each\, exept “Outer Limits” which is four strings\, requiring the shooter to engage steel targets from 7 to 35 yards. The targets vary in size from 10″\, to 12″ round targets and 18″ x 24″ rectangles. Sometimes a couple of stages are replaced with ” outlaw” stages. There is no power factor like in USPSA\, IDPA\, and ICORE matches\, and the targets do not fall. You only need to hit the target.\nSCSA Steel Challenge is the only USPSA type action shooting discipline that allows .22 rimfire rifles and pistols.\nTwo guns per shooter allowed.\nNew Let’s Go Brandon anti inflation rate\,\nFirst gun $25.00 second gun $15.00\nYear round\, Weather permitting..

This course is focused on functional principles\, and not a rigid or dogmatic approach to pistolcraft. \nPrerequisites:  \nYou should be familiar with the safe operation of your handgun and have had practice in shooting it! \nIt is recommended that you have taken the courses listed below prior to signing up for this course: \n\nIntroduction to Handgun or Introduction to Handgun–Women Only\nHandgun 2.0\nDefensive Handgun 2.5\n\nIf you have not taken the classes listed above\, but have other experience you believe might qualify you for eligibility for this class\, please provide your name and contact information to: range@budsgunshopKY.com.  An instructor will contact you to help assess your experience before you sign up for a class for which you might be ill-prepared. \nMaterials needed: You will need to bring the following: \n\na quality handgun: can be a semiauto pistol\, or a revolver\, BUT continue reading;\na holster that is designed specifically for your model handgun (leather or kydex—no nylon) of sufficient quality to be able to repeatedly draw and re-holster with one hand;No holsters will be permitted where the firearm muzzle faces rearward\, or if your draw would sweep other participants—Safety First!  Permitted holsters: Inside (IWB) or Outside Waistband (OWB) holster worn anywhere from appendix to four o’clock position.  In other words\, your holster positioned anywhere from your front centerline around to just behind your hip (so-called 4 o’clock position).NO SMALL-OF-BACK\, CROSSDRAW\, SHOULDER RIGS\, ANKLE\, POCKET\, OR BAG OR PURSE CARRY HOLSTERS are permitted from which to draw FOR THIS CLASS.\na double magazine pouch or two speedloader pouches\, or easily accessible  pockets for quick\, extra-magazine access;\na quality gun belt that firmly supports your holstered gun and magazines.  It is sometimes possible to wear an appendix holster without a belt\, but you need very good support for your gun\, holster and accessories: we  recommend wearing jeans or tactical pants; we do not recommend leggings;\na minimum of three\, double-stack magazines (capacity of 11 rounds or greater each)\, more if you have them.  Single-stack\, magazine-fed pistols will require at least enough magazines to carry 31 rounds.  Revolvers should have enough speedloaders to carry 30 rounds.\npersonal eye and ear protection; electronic ear protection works better for this class;\npen and paper for notetaking;\n200 rounds of range ammunition in the proper caliber for your handgun; ammunition is available for purchase at our range counter.\n\nClass Duration: Up to four hours +/-  Classroom lecture and live-fire drills on our training range! \nDefensive Handgun 2/Handgun 3.0 | Bud’s Gun Shop & Range\, Lexington KY \nClick for Bud’s Gun Shop KY Cancellation Policies
