SUMMARY:ASC DMR / Scoped Carbine Match 4
DESCRIPTION:*****NOTE*****\nCheck-in is from 8:00-8:30am. We anticipate awards around 4:00 pm.\nNote that you must be present for the safety brief at 8:30am sharp to be eligible to participate. Shooters not checked-in and present for the safety brief will forfeit their spot. There are no exceptions to this.\n*****Match Fee*****\nMatch Fee: $65 ASC Members / $75 NON-ASC Members. To register with the member price\, you must have your ASC membership confirmed in Practiscore. Please "apply" for ASC membership in Practiscore. You can apply here: https://practiscore.com/clubs/aurora_sportsman_club/membership/join\nPlease note that memberships are typically verified within 3 business days.\n*****Description*****\nThis match will be a 2-PERSON TEAM MATCH and consist of 5-6 stages\, with targets out to 600 yards. Multiple bays will be utilized. Shooters are expected to bring their rifle zeroed\, with verified DOPE out to 600 yards. Unconventional distances will be used (e.g. 316\, 472 yards).\nHEART RATE WILL BE INCREASED via physical exertion during some stages.\nHEIGHTS WILL BE UTILIZED during some stages.\nPart of the unique fun of this match is that shooters may carry auxiliary equipment to use as they see appropriate\, but all of this equipment must be carried by the shooter and remain on their body or within arm's reach throughout the entire TIMED SEGMENT of each stage; this includes all ammunition for the entire match. Backpacks are commonly used. For example: the shooter may choose to use a rangefinder on a given stage\, and begin with it around their neck with all unused items stowed in their backpack. Useful but absolutely not mandatory equipment includes: backpack\, bipod\, sling\, kneepads\, tripod\, shooting bag\, rangefinder\, kestrel\, ballistics app on phone\, pencil/paper\, arm data board\, additional ammo.\nThe shooter will configure all attachments on their rifle (e.g. bipod\, sling) at the beginning of the match. Each stage will begin with this same configuration\, though these may be removed or added ON THE CLOCK. The same rifle must be used throughout the entire event unless a catastrophic\, irreparable failure occurs.\n*Change for 2026* The shooter may begin a stage with accessory items (such as a shooting bag or tripod) in-hand. Tripods and bipods must be fully collapsed at the beginning of each stage. Scopes may be adjusted prior to the timer unless otherwise stated.\nAbsolutely NO steel core/green tip/penetrator rounds allowed. Muzzle devices are allowed. Minimum of 2 magazines. Any cartridge .30 caliber or below allowed (commonly .223\, .308\, 6mm) though may not exceed a muzzle velocity of 3\,200 fps. Chronographs may be used and will result in a match DQ if speeds at the muzzle exceed 3\,200 fps.\nCarts\, rifle bags or strollers may be used for transportation of rifles and equipment between stages. Use of these items is not allowed during stage courses of fire.\nScoring will be Time Plus Misses. Inability to finish the COF is recorded as par time plus any missed impacts.\nThere will be a maximum par time and potential maximum round count per stage.\nAt minimum\, an optic magnification of 4x is required (more is highly recommended). A red dot with 4x or greater magnifier\, variable zoom scope\, prism\, etc. are approved as long as it achieves 4x magnification or greater. No limitation on maximum magnification. A secondary aiming solution is approved and optional.\nTotal hits required: Approximately 50 (Recommended 125+ rounds). No limit on the amount of ammunition that may be carried\, however it must all be carried by the shooter (just like equipment) throughout the timed portions of the match.\nNo sky loading of rifles permitted.\nBrass collection may not slow down the advancement of shooters during the match. This will be strictly enforced by RO’s.\nRifle/Team Requirements (for trophy eligibility):\n-At least one teammate must shoot .223/5.56 or .308/7.62 caliber\n-Semi-auto rifles only\n-No barrel length\, magnification\, or magazine restrictions\n(For those teams opting not to follow the requirements above\, you may still participate but will be ineligible to place for trophy purposes. At the end of the day we're here to have fun too)\n**NOTE: We operate a "cold range" and rifles are required to be unloaded in a case or cart\, with a chamber flag inserted at all times.\nRegistration fees are non-refundable\, except in the event of match cancellation.\n*****Squadding*****\nBe sure to join the same squad as your partner! If you do not yet have a partner and wish to participate in this match\, you may sign up now\, and you will be assigned a partner before the match.\n*****Gate Codes/Location*****\nIf you are not an ASC member\, you will need a code for the gate at the entrance to the range. The event gate code will be sent in the days leading up to the match. The safety brief will be held in the east building behind the general shooting ranges. There is an access drive between the 100 yard and 200 yard ranges that will take you to the east side. If you can't find them\, ask a club member or RSO and they can guide you back to the ranges. DO NOT BRING GEAR INTO THE SAFETY BRIEF.

SUMMARY:Long Gong Clear Spring\, August (4th Saturday)
DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO LONG GONG @ Izaak Walton Clear Spring!!\nTHE GAME- This is a 300 yd. shooting challenge using any rifles chambered in .22 LR only. The object is to\nShoot the highest score possible.\nTHE TARGET- The targets are AR400 1/8" thick rimfire gongs\, an 8”\, a 6”\, and a 4” gong. Each gong has a value\, 1 point for the 8”\, 2 points for the 6”\, and 3 points for the 4” gong.\nTHE SETUP- From a bench rest (limited to bipods and bags\, no sleds) each shooter\, with 10 rounds of ammunition begins by shooting for the 8” gong. The shooter has a 3-minute time limit to complete their round\, the clock starts with their first shot.\nTHE ORDER- If the shooter hits the 8”\, they score 1 point and now can choose to advance to the 6” gong or continue shooting for the 8” gong. If the shooter advances to the 6” gong and connects\, that hit is worth 2 points\, and they now can choose to shoot for the 4” gong.\nTHE RULES- The shooter must tell the scorekeeper when they switch gongs. A hit only counts if it’s a solid gong hit\, chain or hanger hits do not count. If the shooter misses\, they must go back one gong. If the shooter shoots the wrong gong\, it counts as a zero and the shooter must resume shooting on the correct gong.\nTHE SCORE- The score is totaled after each shooter\, with a possible high score of 27 points (1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=27). A complete game has every shooter fire 5 complete sets for a total of 50 rounds of ammunition (1 full box). The highest possible score for a competition is 135 points. In case of a tie score\, the winner is determined by the shooter with the highest single round score.\nTHE COMPETITORS- The order of the shooters in the first set is determined by drawing numbered chips\, and in each successive set the order of the shooters is determined by the scores\, with the lowest score shooting first. If two or more shooters have identical scores\, whoever shot the score initially will shoot first in the following round. (If Tom shoots an 11\, and then Dave also shoots an 11\, Tom will go before Dave in the following round.)\nTHE CHALLENGE- Hitting gongs at 300 yds. with a .22 LR is challenging. Hitting them repeatedly under changing conditions requires all the fundamentals used by the best long-distance shooters in the world. Do you think you have what it takes?\nNote: We will mix the distances up in the beginning matches (i.e.\, 2 rounds @ 200 yards\, then 3 rounds @ 300 yards).\nWe will give a one 5 minute sight in time before the 1st round @ 200 yds of the match on a 11" x 18" steel plate only. This is done when it is your turn to shoot only.\nPlease come out and join us for some\, or all these events. While competitive in spirit\, these matches are fun shoots and there are plenty of shooters willing to help if you are interested in joining us!\nTime:\n-Gates Open: 0830\n-Check-in: 0900\n-Match Brief: 09:45\n-Match Start: 10:00\n-Cost: $10 for IWLA Clear Spring members\, $15 for non members\nThere is no sight in period before match starts - come ready to shoot.\nThe match is held at the IWLA Clear Spring pistol range off of Independence Rd. Note that the Route 40 bridge over Conococheague Creek and the south portion of Independence Rd will be closed for bridge construction. There will be no entry off Route 40 from the East. Entry will be via Rockdale Rd and Independence Rd from the north. Signs should be posted to detour around the bridge closure.\nGPS coordinates of the pistol range: 39.662696\, -77.837639
