DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO LONG GONG @ Izaak Walton Clear Spring!!\nTHE GAME- This is a 300 yd. shooting challenge using any rifles chambered in .22 LR only. The object is to\nShoot the highest score possible.\nTHE TARGET- The targets are AR400 1/8" thick rimfire gongs\, an 8”\, a 6”\, and a 4” gong. Each gong has a value\, 1 point for the 8”\, 2 points for the 6”\, and 3 points for the 4” gong.\nTHE SETUP- From a bench rest (limited to bipods and bags\, no sleds) each shooter\, with 10 rounds of ammunition begins by shooting for the 8” gong. The shooter has a 3-minute time limit to complete their round\, the clock starts with their first shot.\nTHE ORDER- If the shooter hits the 8”\, they score 1 point and now can choose to advance to the 6” gong or continue shooting for the 8” gong. If the shooter advances to the 6” gong and connects\, that hit is worth 2 points\, and they now can choose to shoot for the 4” gong.\nTHE RULES- The shooter must tell the scorekeeper when they switch gongs. A hit only counts if it’s a solid gong hit\, chain or hanger hits do not count. If the shooter misses\, they must go back one gong. If the shooter shoots the wrong gong\, it counts as a zero and the shooter must resume shooting on the correct gong.\nTHE SCORE- The score is totaled after each shooter\, with a possible high score of 27 points (1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=27). A complete game has every shooter fire 5 complete sets for a total of 50 rounds of ammunition (1 full box). The highest possible score for a competition is 135 points. In case of a tie score\, the winner is determined by the shooter with the highest single round score.\nTHE COMPETITORS- The order of the shooters in the first set is determined by drawing numbered chips\, and in each successive set the order of the shooters is determined by the scores\, with the lowest score shooting first. If two or more shooters have identical scores\, whoever shot the score initially will shoot first in the following round. (If Tom shoots an 11\, and then Dave also shoots an 11\, Tom will go before Dave in the following round.)\nTHE CHALLENGE- Hitting gongs at 300 yds. with a .22 LR is challenging. Hitting them repeatedly under changing conditions requires all the fundamentals used by the best long-distance shooters in the world. Do you think you have what it takes?\nNote: We will mix the distances up in the beginning matches (i.e.\, 2 rounds @ 200 yards\, then 3 rounds @ 300 yards).\nWe will give a one 5 minute sight in time before the 1st round @ 200 yds of the match on a 11" x 18" steel plate only. DESCRIPTION:The Defensive Practical Rifle Match is a shooting sport that uses practical rifles/carbines and equipment suitable for real world use\, including full charge service ammunition\, to solve simulated real world self-defense scenarios.   While primarily a rifle/carbine event\, pistols also sometimes used in a stage with them.   Rules require practical use of cover.\nSlings are required before and after a stage; may be removed during a stage.  Empty chamber flags required.  Other safety and operational rules in effect.\nStages are limited to not more than 24 rounds\, usually nearer 12.  Typical match is 6 stages.  Scoring is shooter’s time\, plus target points down\, plus penalties.  Distances do not exceed 75 yards\, with average around 25 yards.  Some required shots will require precision.  Others are fired on the move or weak shoulder.  Rifle targets are IDPA cardboard.  Pistol targets\, normally around 10-15 yards\, may be cardboard or reactive steel.\nCompetitors will be sent the day's gate code the evening prior\, through Practiscore. Those not pre-registered/observers will need to text the phone number(s) posted on the 101st St gate pedestal the day of the event for that day's entry code. Bring exact change for match fee.

If you're unsure\, just bring what you have and we'll get you sorted at check-in. If you're a new shooter\, please arrive close to 9:30\, leave your guns in the car\, and come talk to us at registration about range safety rules.\n###\n# Fees\n###\nMatch fees are $15 for ORSA members\, $20 for public\, and $5 for juniors. We can only accept cash.\n###\n# Safety rules\n###\nHandguns may be carried unloaded and holstered (as in most other sports).
