SUMMARY:Heartland Steel Challenge League April 9th
DESCRIPTION:Steel Challenge is a speed shooting competition governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular (10”)\, large circular (12”) and rectangular (18×24”) targets. Competitors are scored solely by the time it takes them to complete each stage\, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time.\nThere will be 3 stages with 5 steel targets on each. Shooters get five runs on each stage. Each competitor shoots each stage five times\, with their slowest run dropped. The counting times are totaled for their stage score\, and the 4 stage scores are added together to establish the competitor’s match score.\nFor each run\, one hit per target is required\, with an unlimited number of rounds. The last target to be shot is known as the “stop plate”\, which stops the timer. Any primary targets that have not been hit after the stop plate has been struck\, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. DESCRIPTION:For this match we want to give shooters an opportunity to test their precision shooting skills with modern semi-auto rifle platforms in a format that can be shot on a weekday evening.\nThere are two squads each with a different start time.\nSquad 1: 4 pm to 5 pm\nSquad 2: 5 pm to 6 pm\nThe match will have two stages with multiple shooting positions. Targets will be around 500 or 400 yards and generally 2 MOA to 4 MOA\nScoring will be points\, and time from both stages as tie breaker.\nPlease arrive by the start time of your squad. Thank you.\nStages.\n        Unless the stage description states otherwise\, stages will have a 90 second par time\, a 20 round limit and targets do NOT need to be hit to move on but once you move on that target is a miss you must declare you are moving on. DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Steel Challenge match at Mill Creek Rifle Club\, De Soto\, KS.  3 stages in the evening. Right now I am limiting registration to 1 gun\, depending on how squads fill up I will send out an email if adding a second gun is possible .  $10 match fee for adults\,  $5 each for a second gun if room allows.  Pre-teens and Juniors 13-17 $5 match fee for first gun.  Payment for now will be accepted at the range beginning at 5:00pm on match day Venmo is available.  New competitor orientation at 5:30pm.  Shooters meeting at 5:45pm.  Match begins at 6:00pm. We will try to keep squads together but it may be necessary to move shooters to make sure there are RO’s available on each squad. New shooters need to volunteer to learn how to run the tablet and or timer and everyone not on deck\, shooting\, or loading magazines needs to be helping paint. If everyone helps we should be able to finish a stage in approx 30 min to be able to finish in a timely manner.
