SUMMARY:Oct 1 2026 Bowling Pin Match at SharpShooters Indoor Range
DESCRIPTION:Sharpshooters Indoor Range Bowling Pin Competition Match (Cold Range\, make sure all firearms are completely empty before coming in the store).\nA head-to-head match where 2 shooters compete in shooting 5 bowling pins off a tabletop from their respective sides\, using revolvers with 10 rounds max. They are usually conducted as a double-elimination match with one-time buy-ins for $5\, up to the 3rd round. New shooters will shoot at least 3 times. If there are fewer than 20 entries\, we may go to triple elimination with no buy-ins. Pairing is randomized as much as possible\, but repeat pairings will occur. There are 3 separate classes\, Minor (380\, 9mm\, 38 Sp)\, Major (357 Mag or Sig\, 10mm\, 45 Auto) caliber\, and PCC. No 44 Mag or other similar or large magnum calibers. No Rifle calibers are allowed. Any sighting system is allowed. A SharpShooter's Match/Range pass is presented to each class winner. All scores will be posted on the Upstate Sport Shooting Group FB page.\nMinimum Equipment: Revolver\, Holster or gun rug or range bag\, eye and ear protection. Sign up on the Squad listed for your division. If you want to shoot more than 1 division\, you will need to sign separately for each one. There will be a $5 fee for all additional divisions. You may only shoot in 2 divisions.\nIf the shooters tie in their round\, they will be loaded up with up to 10 rds to break the tie. If all pins are knocked down in a tie\, 2 pins will be set up for each shooter to resolve the tie. If they tie again\, an additional pin will be set up for the next tie-breaker round.

DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Steel Challenge at Mill Creek Rifle Club\, De Soto\, KS.  3 stages in the evening. Right now I am limiting registration to 1 gun\, depending on how squads fill up I will send out an email if adding a second gun is possible .  $10 match fee for adults.  $5 each for a second gun if room allows.  Pre-teens and Juniors 13-17 $5 match fee for first gun.  Payment for now will be accepted at the range beginning at 5:00pm on match day .  New competitor orientation at 5:30pm.  Shooters meetings at 5:45pm.  Match begins at 6:00pm.  We will try to keep squads together but it may be necessary to move shooters to make sure there are RO's available on each squad. New shooters need to volunteer to learn how to run the tablet and or timer and everyone not on deck\, shooting\, or loading magazines needs to be helping paint. If everyone helps we should be able to finish a stage in approx 30 min to be able to finish in a timely manner.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Thurmont Friday Steel Challenge Match.\nMATCH DESCRIPTION:\nThis match will consist of all 8\, Steel Challenge stages.\nRound count will be 195 minimum (plus makeup shots). Bring extra ammo\, as it there is none available for purchase at the facility.\nRULES:\nThis is a Tier 1 local Steel Challenge match and we will abide by the rules of Steel Challenge Shooting Association.\nAll SCSA divisions as well as LO\, RRI\, and RRO are included .  So let's see those Wheel Guns.\nThough you may register in multiple divisions\, you may only register once in any individual division.\nSCORING:\nWe will use the normal Steel Challenge Scoring.\nSAFETY AREAS:\nThurmont is a COLD range.\nFirearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a safety officer (SO).\nHandling of firearms at vehicles is prohibited. Long guns must have an EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR (Chamber Flag) IN PLACE at all times starting from the moment the rifle is uncased for placement in a gun cart or brought to the shooting position.\nPistols may be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated Safety Areas or unbagged under the direction of a RO/SO at the shooting position.\nSafety Areas are clearly marked with signs.  If the table doesn't have a sign marked "Safety Area" then it isn't one and Gun Handling is not allowed there but ammunition handling is.\nNO AMMUNITION HANDLING in safety areas. Use of suppressors is not prohibited but the match director can not assure accurate times.\nAll pistol calibers permitted. As per SCSA rules the maximum velocity for any Handgun or Pistol Caliber Carbine shooting steel is 1600fps. The use of ANY Steel core\, or steel (bimetal) jacketed ammunition (even with permitted calibers) is PROHIBITED.\nMatch fees:\nNon-TCSC members:\n$25 for Adult 1st gun\n$20 for Junior (13 through 17) 1st gun\n$15 for Preteen (12 and under) 1st gun\n$15 for 2nd gun.\nTCSC members:\n$5 Club Member discount on above fees for 1st gun\n$15 for 2nd gun.\nOnline via Credit Card\nIf you can not pay via Credit Card online and need to pay Cash on the day of the match\, contact us at tcsc.steel@gmail.com and\, on rare exception we will send you a link.
