SUMMARY:MISS USPSA October 7th Season Opener
DESCRIPTION:Tickets go on sale at 8AM for Alpha Members (with preregistration code "alpha") and 8PM for general public on the Sunday before a match. Registration ends at 2PM the day before the match or when capacity is reached. If match is full you can sign up for our waitlist and you'll be contacted if someone requests a cancellation.\nOur usual indoor matches feature four to six stages\, usually including one classifier. Once in a while we will shoot an all-steel versus match or another "carnival format"/"theme" match. We start building the stages at 6:00PM (7AM for Saturday matches)\, then shoot until about 10:00PM (11AM for Saturday matches)\, followed by about 30 minute tear-down and cleanup.\nWe require all Illinois competitors to show a FOID. Additionally\, we require competitors be classifed USPSA members in good standing. If you have yet to classify in a division and have not shot with us before\, approval from the match director (uspsamiss@gmail.com) will be required prior to registration.\nNo walk-ins will be accepted!

These will continue about every two weeks.  Remember\, you don't have to be an expert as this is a good place to start building your skills. Do you have a junior who wants something to practice with.  This is a great program to do that!  I have MKIV's available to rent just for this event if you need. (must use our ammo)\nWe will be conducting Basic Pistol through Defensive Pistol II.  We will start with your current qualification and then continue to work up!\nWith the Pistol Qualification you will need:\n-- a minimum of 90 rounds for Pro-Marksman\n-- a minimum of 80 rounds for Marksman\n-- a minimum of 100 rounds for Sharpshooter\n-- a minimum of 100 rounds for Expert\n-- a minimum of 120 rounds for Distinguished Expert\nWith the Defensive Pistol I you will need:\n-- a minimum of 240 rounds for all of the ratings.\nYou will be given a book with your log filled out in the back to keep track of your shots.  You must complete each step before moving on to the next step!  You do not have to finish all shots in the one visit.  We will log in your progress if you have to stop in the middle of shots for a rating.  Please bring your book back with you on your next visit!\nCost for this event is $35.  If this is your first time you will be required to pay a one-time fee of $10 for a range card.\nSign up for the time slot you wish to shoot. Then show up a little early to make sure you can get checked in.  We will do a safety brief figure out what firearms you are using and then get started out on the lane. DESCRIPTION:22LR Falling Steel Match at Sharpshooters Indoor Range (Cold Range\, make sure all firearms are completely empty before coming in the store).\nA head-to-head match where 2 shooters compete to knock down five 6"x 8" steel plates from their respective sides\, using only 22LR Rifles or Pistols\, 10 rounds max. They are usually conducted as a double-elimination match with one-time buy-ins for $5 up to the 3rd round. New shooters will shoot at least 3 times. If there are fewer than 16 entries\, we may go to triple elimination with no buy-ins. Pairing is randomized as much as possible\, but repeat pairings will occur. There are 2 separate divisions\, Rimfire Rifle and Rimfire Pistol (any sighting system). A free match pass is presented to each division winner. Sponsored shooters are not eligible. All scores will be posted on the Upstate Sport Shooting Group FB page. Minimum Equipment: Rifle must have a safety flag\, 2 mags loaded to 10\, eye and ear protection. Pistol in a safely secured container (Holster\, Range Tray\, Range Bag\, or zippered gun rug)\, 2 mags loaded to 10\, eye and ear protection.\nYou may sign up for 2 divisions. There will be a $5 fee for a second division.\nIf the shooters tie in their round\, they will be loaded up with another 10 rds to break the tie. If all plates are knocked down in a tie\, 2 plates will be set up for each shooter to resolve the tie.
