DESCRIPTION:Are you a student who has taken an online LTC Course and need to complete your shooting qualification? Defender offers the LTC shooting proficiency portion every week. \nThe shooting qualification requires that you must be able to load\, unload\, and fire the handgun proficiently. If you are new to or inexperienced with shooting we strongly recommend taking either the LTC Prep or Handgun Fundamentals course. This course does not teach basic firearm skills or shooting instruction. (More info) \nPlease arrive a few minutes early to check in and bring a printed copy of your LTC 104 form. \nOur shooting qualification schedule is as follows: \n\nWednesdays – 10:00am\nSaturdays – 8:00am\n\nNo appointment needed\, you can simply walk-in during these available times. \nPlease bring the following: \n\nLTC 104 Form\nFirearm (rental available at additional charge)\n1 magazine\n50 rounds of ammo (ammunition is available for purchase at time of session)\nEye and Ear Protection (rentals available)\n\nBook Now

DESCRIPTION:Allows you to carry your handgun in both concealed carry and open carry where it is legal to do so. \nClick here for step by step instructions on how to file for your License to Carry and what you need to know. Looking to just take your shooting qualification only? Click here. \nFormerly CHL\, this course includes your classroom time covering the current Texas State and Federal laws that surround your ability to carry a handgun\, as well as the required shooting proficiency test. The shooting qualification requires that you must be able to load\, unload\, and fire the handgun proficiently. \nTHIS IS NOT A FIREARMS TRAINING CLASS AND WILL NOT TEACH YOU HOW TO SHOOT. If you are new to firearms\, we strongly encourage you to take a Private LTC Prep Lesson prior to taking the class. \nNote: Texas rule banning persons under 21 from obtaining a License to Carry was declared unconstitutional. Persons 18-20 years old can now receive their LTC. Please note\, Defender CANNOT rent handguns OR sell ammunition to anyone under 21. If you are under 21\, you are required to provide your own firearm and ammunition in order to qualify for your LTC. \nShooting Proficiency Test Requirement \n3 Yard Line – 20 rounds\n7 Yard Line – 20 rounds\n15 Yard Line – 10 rounds \nWhat’s Included: \n\nState mandated License to Carry classroom instruction\nShooting qualification and range fee\nLTC-100 Certificate of Completion (it is your responsibility to submit your form\, Defender will not submit for you)\nHandgun rental for proficiency test (if needed)\nB27 target\nEye and ear protection (if needed)\n\nEquipment Needed: \n\nValid Driver’s License\nSemi-auto handgun or revolver\n50 rounds of ammo (available for purchase before the start of class. Subject to availability\, call ahead to check)\nEye and ear protection\nWriting utensil\nBeverage and snacks if desired (we have water\, soda and snacks available for purchase)\n\nNot Included: \n\nState application fee\nFingerprinting and fingerprinting fee (you will be prompted to schedule your fingerprinting appointment at the end of the DPS application process)\nTotal course time is about 6 hours.
