This course is taught entirely on the range with no classroom time. \nTopics Covered: \n\nRefining Handgun Fundamentals\nHolster Draw and Consistent Presentation\nReloads\nMultiple-target Engagements\nDrawing and Shooting on the Move\n\nRequired Equipment: \n\nHandgun\n3 magazines\nEye and ear protection\n200–250 rounds of ammunition (available for purchase)\nKydex or similar hard-plastic holster securely mounted to the belt\n\nStrong-side OWB and AIWB holsters are permitted. Holsters positioned behind the hip bone\, cross-draw holsters and off-body carry are not permitted. Sticky Holsters and similar holsters that are not securely attached to the belt are also not permitted. \nWhat To Know Before You Get Here: \nLadies Only Pistol 3 is an advanced course and is not intended for beginners. For those who have already shot some matches but are looking for more than the basics\, please contact the instructor for a private lesson or look for our Practical Shooting 2 class. \nTopics Covered: \n\nPhysical structure\, grip\, and vision\nPredictive and reactive shooting\nConfirmation levels\nTarget transitions\nEntries and exits\nShooting on the move\nHit factor scoring\nProper equipment configuration\n\nWhat To Know Before You Get Here: \nWe request that all students do an honest self-evaluation of experience and skill level. Brand new shooters or those unsure with their abilities will feel overwhelmed jumping into a class like Practical Shooting 1\, which we have seen lead to safety issues and overall\, a lack of having fun. If that’s you\, we would love to see you in one of our other courses such as Pistol 1 or Pistol 2. Click here. \nFormerly CHL\, this course includes your classroom time covering the current Texas State and Federal laws that surround your ability to carry a handgun\, as well as the required shooting proficiency test. The shooting qualification requires that you must be able to load\, unload\, and fire the handgun proficiently. \nTHIS IS NOT A FIREARMS TRAINING CLASS AND WILL NOT TEACH YOU HOW TO SHOOT. If you are new to firearms\, we strongly encourage you to take a Private LTC Prep Lesson prior to taking the class. \nNote: Texas rule banning persons under 21 from obtaining a License to Carry was declared unconstitutional. Persons 18-20 years old can now receive their LTC. Please note\, Defender CANNOT rent handguns OR sell ammunition to anyone under 21.
