SUMMARY:RRPC Reactive Steel - July 2026
DESCRIPTION:This is our monthly steel match at RRPC\, open to the general public.\nThe match fee is $10\, payable in cash or check (made out to "Cash") on the day of the match.  Exact change is greatly appreciated.  Match staff shoots for free.\nThe match comprises three stages and features approximately 90 reactive steel targets.\nThe match is held on the lower ranges.  Shooters check in at the Pistol Range Firing Line starting at 9:00 AM.  Shooters briefing is at 9:30 AM\, and shooting starts immediately after the briefing ends.\nEar and eye protection is mandatory for all\, including spectators.\nThis match is run as a Cold Range\, meaning no one has a loaded gun until they are at a shooting position and commanded to load by their safety officer.\nIDPA/USPSA safety rules and commands govern this match.\nCompetition divisions for this event are:\nCFPI - Center-Fire Pistols with iron(open) sights\nCFPO - Center-Fire Pistols with optics\nPCC - Center-Fire Pistol Caliber Carbines or braced pistols\nAmmo must be common pistol cartridges\, no magnums please. No steel core ammo allowed.  Bring plenty of ammo!\nScoring is elapsed time plus 5 seconds for any target not knocked over or down.  Lowest score wins.\nNormal starting position is with a holstered pistol or PCC at the low ready\, with all safeties engaged.  Pistol shooters without a holster or uncomfortable drawing from a holster may start from the low ready position but receive a 3 second penalty.\nPistol shooters without holsters and PCC shooters must keep their firearms cased until it is their turn to shoot.

The method this year has been refined to help “spread the wealth” and offer more random payments Here are the highlights:\nDivisions of 1-4 competitors do not qualify for a payout.\nDivision of 5-9 competitors qualify for a first place payout of $40.00 only.\nDivisions of 10-15 competitors qualify for first\, second\, and third place payouts.\nDivisions of 16+ competitors qualify for first\, second\, third\, and two modified Lewis system payouts.\nAll first place minimums are $40.00.\nAll second place minimums are $35.00.\nAll third place minimums are $25.00.\nModified Lewis system pays-out are fixed at $20 at the top of the middle third of competitors and the top of the lower third of competitors.\nPrize money as a pool of each division is relative in size to the division size for first\, second\, and third place payouts.\nRounding factors apply up or down based on the nearest ten except where minimums have been specified.\nPerformance awards will be given based on placement.\nPioneer Sportsmen has a policy that shooters on their bays must keep their muzzles below the berms at all times while shooting including when reloading (revolvers excluded when reloading). DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Wisconsin Speed Freak Rimfire Match will be shot in two flights\, one Friday and one Saturday\, Competitors will shoot 10 stages in one day.  This match will test competitors with stages that have anywhere from 3 to 8 targets.  In some cases your worst strings will not be dropped like in other events.  Stages will be three 3-5 strings.  The true intention of this type of match is to make it easy enough for new and existing gun owners who don’t have or cannot afford a large inventory of magazines for their guns; or don’t have both a pistol and rifle in 22LR\, involved in the shooting sports.  Making events such as this centered around family\, fun\, and education is our goal here at Colfax Sportsmen’s Club.\nThere will be four (6) available Divisions: Optics Pistol\, Optics Rifle\, Optics Revolver\, Irons Pistol\, Irons Rifle\, and Irons Revolver.\nCompetitors can shoot either a 22LR Pistol and or a 22LR Rifle\, whichever they have for a respective division.  Rough estimate round count is 300 rounds per division. Use of suppressors is not prohibited but the match director can not assure accurate times.\nAll pistol calibers permitted. So\, round count may vary but plan to bring 150-200 rounds (more never hurts!) for the evening.\nThis is intended for current IDPA competitors to have a space to hone their skills AND also for new shooters interested in the sport to try it out - be sure to read the IDPA Rule Book and Equipment Appendices available at https://www.idpa.com/idpa-match-rules/ prior to signing up!\nPlease arrive at 5:30 to assist with set-up and sign-in. First rounds downrange are targeted for 6:00. Steel provides an excellent starting place for young or beginning shooters. Steel offers the most diversified shooting sport out there making it appealing to youth and seniors\, novice and experts. Any practical handgun \,including 22 rimfires (both handgun and rifle). Sign up starts at9AM\, Cost for monthly club level matches are $15 for Pinetucky Club Members and $20 for Non-member. A second firearm can be registered for an additional $10.Standard Pinetucky safety rules Apply. You can sign up at practiscore.com.  Please note our steel challenge is now six stages which requires a minimum round count of 150 rounds of ammunition.  Please plan accordingly.
