DESCRIPTION:This is our monthly steel match at RRPC\, open to the general public.\nThe match fee is $10\, payable in cash or check (made out to "Cash") on the day of the match.  Exact change is greatly appreciated.  Match staff shoots for free.\nThe match comprises three stages and features approximately 90 reactive steel targets.\nThe match is held on the lower ranges.  Shooters check in at the Pistol Range Firing Line starting at 8:00 AM.  Shooters briefing is at 8:30 AM\, and shooting starts immediately after the briefing ends.\nEar and eye protection is mandatory for all\, including spectators.\nThis match is run as a Cold Range\, meaning no one has a loaded gun until they are at a shooting position and commanded to load by their safety officer.\nIDPA/USPSA safety rules and commands govern this match.\nCompetition divisions for this event are:\nCFPI - Center-Fire Pistols with iron(open) sights\nCFPO - Center-Fire Pistols with optics\nPCC - Center-Fire Pistol Caliber Carbines or braced pistols\nAmmo must be common pistol cartridges\, no magnums please. No steel core ammo allowed.  Bring plenty of ammo!\nScoring is elapsed time plus 5 seconds for any target not knocked over or down.  Lowest score wins.\nNormal starting position is with a holstered pistol or PCC at the low ready\, with all safeties engaged.  Pistol shooters without a holster or uncomfortable drawing from a holster may start from the low ready position but receive a 3 second penalty.\nPistol shooters without holsters and PCC shooters must keep their firearms cased until it is their turn to shoot.

We are extremely excited to host our 2026 Series Rivals and Teams event here\, as it is going to provide competitors with a great shooting experience.\nTactical Biathlon is a 2-gun biathlon. Competitors carry a rifle and pistol over a predetermined course of fire ranging in distance.\nEach competitor is assigned a unique start time to enter the course. Re-supplying once on the course is not permitted.\nCompetitors will encounter several stages to shoot at throughout the course. These stages may be rifle only\, pistol only\, or a combination of the two.\nCompetitors have 3 minutes to complete a stage. If the competitor fails to complete a stage within the time allotted\, they will receive a Did Not Finish (DNF).\nEach stage has a unique layout including varying numbers of targets and distances to the targets. Competitors must be able to adapt to the stage\, target size\, and distance on their own in order to complete the stages.\nGenerally\, pistol targets will range from 15-75 yards\, while rifle targets will range from 50-700 yards.\nCompetitors will be put in unique situations and positions that will require engaging targets they might not be accustomed to. Additionally\, some stages might require movement\, or transitions from one position/weapon to another. Safety is paramount. Competitors and ROs will ensure that shooters are moving with the safety on\, finger off the trigger\, and muzzle down range. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. A DQ will be removal from the course\, and you will be done for the day.\nWhile running on the course\, rifles will not be loaded or have a mag inserted. Pistols are allowed to be in condition 1 (magazine inserted and a round in the chamber) while holstered. Competitors will be checked at the start/finish along with the entry/exit of every stage. Failure to follow this (or competition specific rules/regulations) will result in immediate disqualification.\nOur competitions will weight your score 50% for shooting and 50% for run time\, unless otherwise specified on the event page.\nThe Series event will be a 6-10 mile course in the typical Tactical Biathlon style.\nThe Rivals and Teams event will utilize the Series course with modified stages and a lessened distance. Rivals can be ran individually or in a group. Teams will be composed of 2 members. Teams will go out on the course together and shoot the stages as a unit. All must show ID at sign-in.  Payment of the match fee is required at registration.  Reminder:  You can only take one discount.\nREFUNDS: Refunds will be provided less $5 credit card processing fee. No refunds if you cancel less than 24 hours before match start time.  No match day registration.\nCircular plates require 1 hit for score\, rectangular and square plates 2 hits.  Last shot bonus (yellow) plate hit is 3 seconds from your time for round plate\, 6 seconds for 2-shot rectangle plates. Missed plates incur a 3 second penalty.  Your score is your time for the stage.  Shot count for most stages is 30 or less.  The bonus is something that can reward good shooters without penalizing any shooters.  Verify your score after you shoot\, grossly inaccurate scores will result in a DNF for that stage.\nWe also want to remind shooters that we only allow ONE GUN per shooter.\nAlso a reminder that all center fire pistol shooters much have a holster and begin the stage with the pistol in the holstered position. For rim fire\, we do not require a holster since most action matches do not allow rim fire participation -- we do for action steel so we will use the rim fire rules for Steel Challenge.\nPMRPC range rules require that muzzles of long guns be carried muzzle down (NOT UP!) and must be flagged or encased whenever carrying the gun.\nWaitlist ok -- Waitlisted shooters will be notified prior to match if they are approved to shoot.\nNo check in required.  Shooter information is available at staff table in bay 6.  Shooters can go directly to their first stage.\nMandatory shooter's briefing at 8:30\nMatch starts immediately after briefing.\nDo a roll call of your squad prior to your first shot.\nTablets and Timers stay on stage.\nKeep in mind that Port Malabar does not allow draw from appendix holster position due to club insurance.\nThe Sig Sauer P320 — including all derivative models based on the P320 platform — is not permitted on PMRPC property. This temporary suspension will remain in place until the underlying concerns have been fully addressed and resolved to our satisfaction. You can learn wind for years and still be learning\, and this 2 day course will give you a good foundation. The difference between top shooters when all else is equal with equipment and skills\, is the ability to read and call wind. Yes\, you can use a Kestrel weather meter to give you a good bracket based on wind direction\, target direction\, and all the secondary effects\, but it stills involves you making choices.\nThe aim of this course will be to further your ability to generate your elevation at longer distances\, increase your understanding of the secondary effects on your projectile (aerodynamic jump\, spin drift and Coriolis effect) learn Mirage 2\, Wind 2+3\, and where wind has the most effect on your projectile and how fickle wind can be. You will learn how to use Ballistic Solvers intermediate level (i.e. Kestrel or AB Quantum App) and calculate for target direction\, wind direction\, wind speed\, secondary effects and learn about calibrating your muzzle MV and other calibrations to make your Ballistic solver extremely accurate.\n (Attendance of Part 2 of this course is a requirement. DESCRIPTION:Helpers with the Saturday morning setup can shoot on Saturday with the Safety Officers after the setup is completed mid-morning.  If the weather's decent on the Friday afternoon\, the match director will be at the range to get a head start on stage layout\, if you're available to lend a hand. We have just changed our policy regarding workers and free match entry. Those who help with the setup on Friday and/or Saturday  morning shoot for free.\nNote: We are only accepting EMTs for payment. Please send the EMT to idpa@eosc.ca.  The EMT will be auto-deposited therefore no password is required. For those who are helping build the match\, we'll approve your registration without an EMT.\nYou must still send an EMT to secure your spot on a shooting squad after your registration for the match has been approved.\nRemember - you are responsible for squadding yourself after paying and getting approved.  If you do not squad yourself you may risk losing your preferred spot to another shooter.\nAs always\, we are very grateful for assistance during the setup on Saturday starting after 8:30.\nWe will have pizza or hotdogs for the workers' lunch on Saturday.\nWe encourage new IDPA Members to come out and help setup on Saturday.\nSpectators are also welcomed if you want to help out or just watch.\nRecent graduates of the NSOC\, remember that your first match after your course is free\, just remind us so we do not charge you. Compete again in the same or another division for a discounted match fee. Bring any pistol or PCC or try out a new SIG pistol or PCC for an additional fee. You must be a SHOOT SIG member and shoot a SIG firearm to be eligible for prizes.\n*NOTE: If you want to shoot in more than one Division or multiple entries in a single Division\, you must first complete your initial registration and pay the initial $45 match fee. Then\, you must register for each additional entry and select "Additional Division" under Extras in the payment information section to receive the discounted match fee of $25. Each additional entry in this manner will allow you to pick a respective Division and Squad; this will result in multiple registrations for the same match being displayed under your PractiScore dashboard profile.\n**NOTE: As a reminder\, we operate using a "cold range" principle which means all firearms are to remain unloaded and in your gun bag/box or holster until you are under the direct supervision of a SHOOT SIG Range Officer and have been instructed to "load and make ready" on a prescribed course of fire. If you are planning to shoot the match with your carry gun and you arrive to the range with a loaded (hot) firearm\, we will have designated safe areas clearly marked where you can safely unload your firearm prior to checking in.
