DESCRIPTION:IDPA is the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios using firearms that are suitable for self-defense use.  ** See note at bottom**\nOur matches usually consist of 4 stages – from very basic to quite difficult. Usually a mixture of scenario and standards.\nClub level matches officially start at 4 PM. You do not have to be present at the start of the match. You will shoot in the order that you check in once you’ve arrived at the range.\nDue to safety concerns on our indoor range\, no jacketed hollow-point\, steel core\, or Wolf brand ammunition allowed.\nMatch fees are due at signup\, $15 for non-members & $10 for NCRR members.  For members to receive the discount\, they must also be a NCRR member on Practiscore.  To become a NCRR member on Practiscore\, after applying for club membership on Practiscore\, you must confirm your NCRR membership by sending an email to idpa@ncrr.net (from the email account they use to log onto Practiscore) with your NCRR member number.  This must be done prior to registering for the match in order for me to add you for the Practiscore discount to take place.\nRefunds for withdrawals will be processed minus the credit card processing fee. SUMMARY:Blue Ridge BRSC Falling Steel April 17-18
DESCRIPTION:The match consists of 5 stages with each stage having 21-30 steel targets that must fall to be counted.\nHandguns are limited to 10 rounds in the magazine unless in the Open Unlimited division while PCC’s have unlimited magazine capacity. There are no par times or ammo limits. Shoot until you knock all targets down or you run out of ammo. Pistol calibers only! This is a centerfire match; rimfires will not reliably knock the steel down. All targets are 8” diameter or larger total square inches and placed 10-20 yards from the shooter’s table. Start position is with safety engaged and muzzle touching the table. No holster draws to start. Reloads can come off the table or off the belt. Guns need to be bagged or holstered until the “Make ready” command is issued by the range safety officer. This is a cold range. Eye and ear protection is required for all competitors and spectators. Unsafe acts will not be tolerated.\nGun divisions include:\nSA-Stock auto: iron sights and no compensators\nOA-Open auto: Any sights\, optics and compensators are allowed\nOU-Open Unlimited: any sights\, optics\, comps allowed. In addition\, each match will feature random prize giveaways.\nAbout 1GUN\n1GUN is a defensive-focused shooting sport built on a simple principle: NO REHEARSALS\, JUST REACT!   See www.1gun.org for more information and videos.\nAbout the Matches\nThese matches are reality-based scenarios which provide quality trigger time in a more dynamic\, realistic environment. These matches expand beyond traditional shooting competitions into reality-based scenarios which emphasize real-world decision-making\, while having fun with your friends on a Friday night!\nShooters are encouraged to wear the daily duty gear\, which is consistent with their current duty assignment.\nEach match will consist of at least 4 stages (approximate 100 rounds total) all centered around reality-based scenarios\, for example: carjacking\, home-invasion\, as well as various scenarios dealing with armed or confrontational subjects who do not respond to commands\, …\nTo ensure a true representation of reality\, there will be a proper mix of close quarter encounters as well having to address threats slightly further away\, similar to today’s typical street encounters. In all scenarios the shooter will not be given the opportunity to rehearse the stage\, nor know which targets will be threats until the stage begins. While no scenario can fully replicate real-life encounters\, the objective is to create stages which are significantly more realistic than conventional setups.
